Holiday Party: Do’s and Don’ts

As the holiday season approaches, everyone’s got an idea for a party. It may be for friends, family, colleagues, you name it. There can be a lot of work that goes into holiday party planning and here are our list of do’s and don’ts when planning your party.

Do use an electronic invite platform. Evite is a great resource for sending invites for any part. It has features like RSVP tracking, event reminders, and more. Its a great tool for reaching out to those people you want at your party.

DON’T feel bad about asking friends, family or departments (if your planning a work party) to contribute to the event in some way. Whether that’s having someone bring an appetizer or dessert, or another person plan a game or activity. The pressure doesn’t have to fall on one person to make the party happen.

DO set up a self serve drink station. There is already enough to do, plan out some fun cocktail ideas in advance and have a station ready to go for people to serve themselves. Make sure to include some fun non-alcoholic options too. This saves you time and creates a fun, easy activity for guests.

DON’T focus on everything needing to be perfect. The best part about a holiday party is spending time together. You want your guests to have fun but you need to enjoy yourself too.

DO send people home with leftovers. There is enough food around the holidays so don’t let your guest leave empty handed. You can pick up to go containers from Costco to make packaging leftovers super easy.

With these tricks in mind - you’ll be having the best holiday bash this year!
