Are Day of Coordinators Worth It?
Hiring a Day of Coordinator might seem like an unnecessary expense on your wedding day, but in reality, they can make a huge difference in ensuring that your wedding day is flawless. Here are a few reasons why we think hiring a Day of Coordinator is important:
Stress Relief
Let’s be honest, planning a wedding can be stressful, and when it’s finally time for you to walk down the aisle and say “I do”, you want to be able to enjoy your wedding day without worrying about all of the details (like whose going to light all of the tea candles at the reception). A Day of Coordinator (or two) handles all of the logistics from making sure your guests are seated and you and your bridal party make it down the aisle on time, to working with other vendors at the reception like your caterer, emcee, and venue managers to make sure your reception is set up and ready for you and your guests to spend the evening celebrating your marriage in a stress free environment. A Day of Coordinators job is to make sure you relax and enjoy your special day.
Vendor Coordination
Coordinating with vendors can be a headache, and on your wedding day you shouldn’t have to be on the phone with the caterer or photographer. A Day of Coordinator takes care of all the communication and logistics with vendors. At Kairos Events, we do a 24-hour take over before your wedding to ensure all of the vendors you’ve booked arrive on time, set up correctly, and perform their duties to the expectations agreed upon in your contracts.
Timeline Management
A Day of Coordinator makes sure that your wedding runs on schedule (or at least close to it). With Kairos Events, our brides get our special “Bridal Package” that contains fillable timeline schedules that help us work on your rehearsal and day of schedule together. We work with you to create a timeline of events that not only tracks when you are walking down the aisle, but when all of your rentals arrive and vendors show up.
Problem Solving
There’s always something that doesn’t quite go according to plan at a wedding. For example, we had a dozen bottles of sparkling water explode overnight the day before a wedding we coordinated last year. In this situation, we found the store that the bottles were purchased from and went out and replaced the broken ones without the bride even knowing the mishap that had occurred. When things don’t go according to plan, a Day of Coordinator can quickly and efficiently solve any issues that arise, without disrupting the event.
Hiring a Day of Coordinator might seem like an added expense, we get it, but in the long run, they save you time, stress and money. So, if you’re getting married soon and considering hiring a Day of Coordinator, we’d love to grab a coffee with you and chat about what that could look like for your special day!
